Over the past week I’ve been doing some research into an affiliate that I felt would be appropriate for Be 4 Success. Health, Diet, and Exercise are area’s that I’m weak on, yet are an important foundation towards Success. My thought was to partner with an affiliate who could compliment the philosophy of Be 4 Success. I believe I found that in Tom Venuto’s program Burn The Fat.

Below is an article written by Tom that I hope you enjoy.

Investing Alone Or With A Professional

by Neil on November 18, 2008

In today’s turbulent market a good question that every investor should be asking is whether they should be making their investment decisions alone or with the assistance of a professional investment advisor. There are pros and cons to both sides of the argument and I’ll attempt to outline those below. However, it’s important to have some goals defined before you even cross the bridge of who should be providing you with investment advice.

Without a clear set of goals and investment advisor isn’t going to be able to assist you in making decisions. Similarly, if you don’t know your short and long term plans you’ll be hard pressed to make effective investment decisions.

Today, we look at what each of us can do about Cancer. There is nothing earth shattering about what I’m going to share today. You already know it. However, I often find it helps to be reminded. To bring these idea’s and thoughts out of our sub-conscious mind and into our present thoughts. Then while we are actively aware of them we can act. Through action we can bring about results.

Recently I wrote about David Bach’s Latte Theory. How cutting back on small things can save you money in the long run. You can read that article here.

Today I wanted to cover how you can save money automatically. This is something that David covers in his book The Automatic Millionaire: A Powerful One-Step Plan to Live and Finish Rich. As the title says, it’s a one-step plan. Further, it’s a simple one step-plan. [click to continue…]

Last week I wrote an article entitled Dealing With Mr. Cranky-Pants. In this article I outlined an encounter I had with a client and my reactions to it.

Since writing the article I’ve done some reflection about that particular encounter and the effect it had on me. Now, before I go any further I want you to know that I don’t recant any of what I said last week. I still feel I handled myself well and I stand behind the reccomendations I made.

However, the client interaction got me thinking. Perhaps I could have been more effective when dealing with Mr. Cranky-Pants. [click to continue…]

Shed The Fat

by Neil on November 12, 2008

I finally bit the bullet and started exercising. Since my son was born I’ve been living for him, which is how it should be. However, my own health has been suffering due to my eating habits going down the drain. Gone were healthy balanced meals and in was anything that came out of a box with zero prep. The effects were damning. My weight went up and my suits got tight. With a newborn in the house the prospect of buying new suits is not appealing. Nor is it in the budget.

The response then is to begin eating properly and to start exercising again! Last week began with a gradual shift towards healthier eating. You can read about that here. This week I began exercising. Right now I’m just using some old DVDs that I found around the house.

To those who have fought for freedom that I might know a life of peace, I thank you. To those who continue to serve to bring peace around the globe, I thank you. To those who will serve one day in the future, I pray for peace that you may never need pick up the sword.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

A Movember Update

by Neil on November 10, 2008

Week 1 of Movember has come to an end. Donations haven’t gone up any, at least not directly. However, my branch has casual days on Friday. We normally donate to a cause for this. So, approximately 12 people at $2 per week is $24 a week, times 4 weeks is $96 extra dollars that will be coming in.

Feel free to comment on the Mo. It’s going to take some getting used to.

Bloggers Unite: Refugees United

by Neil on November 10, 2008

There are countless conflicts around the globe right now. Each of them is inflicting it’s toll of human suffering. Out of these conflicts thousands of people are being displaced. Dictionary.com defines a refugee as:

a person who flees for refuge or safety, esp. to a foreign country, as in time of political upheaval, war, etc.

I am fortunate to live in a country where I don’t live under the imminent threat of war, political turmoil, or displacement due to a disaster. However, I believe this privilege comes with a price.
